Finger millet (Eleusine coracana) is one of the important small millets with high nutraceutical value in world. Most farmers attracted by cultivation due to its wide adoptability different soil types and climate. It also grows well hot climates short rainfall periods cool warm millets. A multitude grow finger limited water resources many countries this crop often referred as “poor people's crop”. The grains are very size brown, light brown white colours based on cultivars. cultivars have been developed mainly for baking industry, used porridge while cultivar utilized brewing traditional opaque beer Southern Africa. has highest source calcium iron when compared other cereals. contains concentration carbohydrates, dietary fibre, phytochemicals essential amino acids; presence minerals; a gluten‑free status. Diet major focus public health strategies aimed at maintaining optimum throughout life, thus preventing early onset chronic diseases promoting healthier ageing. Many researchers described that helps natural weight loss, strengthens bone, prevents diabetes, anti-ageing, maintains blood pressure levels, protects from disease, improves hemoglobin status children etc.,. Studies properties foods shown consumption certain may provide greater benefits. not only human consumption, but it feed cattle birds. preparation both malted forms, like porridge, puddings, pancakes, biscuits, roti, bread, noodles, snacks. Besides this, nourishing food infants regarded wholesome diabetic patients. Therefore, necessary need needs increase production productivity through various improved technologies meet our requirements future strengthen distribution system achieving nutritional security.
